firestation
Decommissioned Firestation no. 3 in Rumford, Rhode Island was purchased through auction by two artists who needed an affordable home with ample space for their studios. The 1930's brick and block building featured a vast three bay garage on the ground floor and claustrophobic dormitory on the second floor. Winning an AIA Merit Award for adaptive reuse, the project was also featured in The New York Times.
